Revisiting the Great Classics
There’s a reason certain pieces become “classics.” When faced with the familiar strains of Bizet’s Carmen Suite, Gershwin’s An American in Paris, and Ravel’s Boléro, will you be able to resist humming along? As our first traditional symphonic event of the 2024-2025 season, this concert featuring well-known orchestral masterpieces is sure to delight!

Symphony of the Mountains is thrilled to present a special pre-concert discussion exploring the significance of the compositions featured in our upcoming performance, as well as the historical connection to the French-American alliance.
The pre-concert conversation begins at 2:00pm, led by Dr. Martin Dotterweich and Dr. Pat Flannagan. The concert will follow at 3:00pm, featuring a familiar selection of music by both French and American composers, including Ravel’s Boléro, Bizet’s Carmen Suite, and Gershwin’s An American in Paris.
