Dear Friends,
We’d just finished playing for 90 unsheltered friends at a local rescue mission. The spaghetti dinner was over, the violins now silent.
As everyone was walking out, one man stopped at the door and looked back. Pointing out into the night, he said in words more sad than hopeful,
“If only we could find out there the peace your music gave us tonight.”
As the professional symphony of these mountains we call home, we are committed to bringing the gift of beautiful music to everyone out there…
…our loyal patrons.
…our unsheltered in the city.
…our poor in distant “hollers.”
…our children bereft of beauty in their lives.
Music soothes. It comforts, it heals, it elevates. Just as food feeds the body, fine music feeds the soul.
