Primo Orchestra News
The Symphony of the Mountains Primo Orchestra will be holding a Zoom meeting next Thursday, January 21st, at 5:30 p.m. We weren’t able to rehearse and perform last fall due to COVID, and we don’t know what the near future holds, but we want to be ready to resume in-person rehearsals when the time is right!
To be a member of Primo, students need to have had at least one year of instrumental instruction and have a basic knowledge of music reading. Primo is a string orchestra, so any young students who play violin, viola, cello, bass, or piano are welcome to participate.
Most Primo musicians are between the ages of 8 and 14 years, but older or younger students are welcome. We will be discussing repertoire, potential rehearsal schedule and performance, and more.
Also, the Symphony of the Mountains Youth Orchestra will begin rehearsing virtually on the same date, 6:30-8:00 p.m. The Youth Orchestra still is in need of string players and select wind instruments. If you have a student interested in participating in this group, please email Jeff Markee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I will email a link to the Zoom meeting next week. Please email me with any questions you might have, and please pass this information on to your students. Feel free to share my email – email@example.com – with anyone who may have questions!
